Tom has been practicing maritime law for over 30 years. He has handled all manner of claims including Jones Act, Longshore, COGSA, vessel collision, grounding, sinking and allision, as well as marine terminal/chassis/container/cargo matters involving the Carmack Amendment. Tom has tried numerous jury and bench trials to verdict in state and federal court throughout Texas. He is a 1990 graduate of the University of Houton Law School where he earned an MBA in1984. Tom graduated from the New York Maritime Academy at Fort Schuyler in 1978 and went to sea on merchant ships until 1987, working his way up the ranks to sail as Master. Tom combines hands-on seagoing experience with broad maritime defense background. He is admitted to federal courts in the Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the United States Supreme Court.
