Alex has litigated cases in all areas of transportation and admiralty/maritime law, including allisions, collisions, groundings, cargo claims, death and personal injury claims, environmental casualties and other commercial disputes.

He is a firm believer that getting a case ready for trial is a complete team effort and considering the input of all involved is of the utmost importance.

Alex uses his experience in conducting on-site investigations to adequately assess the risk of cases. Recognized by his clients for his attention to detail and ability to actively listen and address their concerns with a fresh, yet grounded approach to interpreting laws and working within the legal system to achieve their goals. Prior to attending law school, he worked as a mechanic, which gives him a different perspective on motor vehicle accidents, workplace injury cases and other marine casualties.

Alex is admitted in multiple jurisdictions including Texas, Puerto Rico, Pennsylvania, and multiple United States Federal Courts. He has also represented clients before government agencies, including EEOC, NLRB, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency, and U.S. Coast Guard to minimize the impact of agency action on business operations and to mitigate potential liability.

Over the past 15 years, he has defended the interests of numerous vessel owners and nearly all Protection and Indemnity Clubs. He has given presentations on various maritime and admiralty topics.

Born in Puerto Rico and raised in the States, Alex is fluent in Spanish, English and Spanglish. He is married and has two young children, which run his life outside of work.
